Plays Vincent Youmans

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Continuing his prolific series of songbook tributes, the virtuosic pianist applies his immensely swinging, articulate style to the compositions of Vincent Youmans. Supported by Ray Brown and Ed Thigpen, Oscar Peterson deconstructs Broadway classics with brilliant harmonic variations and deeply propulsive rhythm. The record stands as a stellar example of his ability to elevate traditional pop structures through modern jazz improvisation.
