Album Notes & Community Reviews

Assembled and released posthumously, this vital collection draws largely from the incredibly productive 1967 sessions that yielded his definitive final works. Backed impeccably by Booker T. & the M.G.'s and the Mar-Keys horn section, the iconic vocalist delivers typically raw, impassioned performances across a mix of driving up-tempo tracks and devastating ballads. It stands as a testament to his unmatched emotional power at the absolute height of his abilities.
