Mogoya

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking her first album of new material in eight years, the legendary Malian vocalist revitalizes the traditional Wassoulou sound of her heritage. The tracking beautifully frames her powerful, soaring voice with a modern production sheen, integrating subtle funk keyboards and electronic drum elements alongside traditional African instrumentation like the kamale ngoni. The lyricism continues her lifelong advocacy for women's rights and social justice.
