Album Notes & Community Reviews

Operating completely outside the boundaries of mid-90s hip-hop, P.M. Dawn's third album is a profoundly introspective, heavily psychedelic exploration of spirituality. 'Jesus Wept' relies entirely on lush, deeply melodic pop-soul arrangements and Prince Be's highly existential, frequently melancholic lyrical delivery. While drastically alienating rap purists, it remains a brilliant, highly ambitious precursor to the modern neo-soul movement.
