Album Notes & Community Reviews

Produced by Colin Newman of Wire, the debut album from the Belgian brothers Jean-Marc and Pierre Pauly is a masterclass in melancholic, meticulously crafted synthpop. The icy, minimalist drum programming provides a rhythmic foundation for dark, longing vocal deliveries heavily steeped in the coldwave tradition. The smooth, sombre aesthetic became a hallmark release for the influential Play It Again Sam label.
