Album Notes & Community Reviews

For this highly anticipated project, the legendary jazz guitarist assembled an exceptional new ensemble featuring Chris Potter on saxophone, Ben Williams on bass, and Antonio Sanchez on drums. The album notably marks Metheny's first recording with a prominent tenor saxophonist since his groundbreaking 1980 work '80/81'. The compositions are deeply intricate, highly conversational, and heavily focused on expansive, interactive group improvisation over dense harmonic structures.
