Adventures in Your Own Backyard

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Deliberately stepping away from the sprawling, conceptual ambition of their previous records, the Montreal-based ensemble recorded this effort intimately in Watson's own apartment. The arrangements remain lush and orchestral, prominently featuring cinematic strings and brass, but are grounded by a distinctly warm, domestic atmosphere. The album beautifully showcases Watson's delicate falsetto and his penchant for theatrical, deeply romantic songwriting.
