Album Notes & Community Reviews
Stepping away from the loud, southern-rock bluster of Drive-By Truckers, the veteran songwriter delivers a devastatingly quiet and deeply personal solo effort. The stripped-back Americana arrangements allow Hood's raspy, narrative-driven lyricism to take center stage, focusing entirely on themes of melancholia and mortality.
