Album Notes & Community Reviews

Led by a veteran Crescent City drummer, this authentic ensemble performance revives the foundational polyphony of early twentieth-century jazz. The recording captures the indispensable strutting syncopation and collective front-line improvisation essential to the genre's marching band origins. It operates as an immaculately recorded time capsule, preserving regional traditions amidst the rapid modernization of 1950s jazz.
