Album Notes & Community Reviews

Featuring the delicate interplay between Paul Desmond's famously airy alto saxophone and Jim Hall's incredibly subtle, nuanced guitar work, 'Easy Living' is a masterpiece of quiet sophistication. Backed by the Modern Jazz Quartet's rhythm section, the sessions prioritize melodic beauty and relaxed, spacious improvisation over aggressive hard bop showmanship. It is considered one of the finest chamber jazz recordings of the 1960s.
