Commissioned to accompany an exhibition by artist Peter Blake, the former Beatle returns to the avant-garde experimentalism of his youth alongside producer Youth and Super Furry Animals. 'Liverpool Sound Collage' heavily manipulates snippets of early Beatles studio chatter and McCartney's own classical works into dense, rhythmic electronic soundscapes. The project stands as a surprisingly challenging, abstract entry in the pop legend's expansive catalog.
