Produced by George Martin, this release acts as a direct continuation of the 'Tug of War' sessions, utilizing many of the same musicians and unreleased tracks. The project famously features the chart-topping duet with Michael Jackson on 'Say Say Say', alongside McCartney's signature blend of baroque pop arrangements and sentimental balladry. The title track also achieved significant success, highlighted by its poignant music video recreating the 1914 Christmas truce.
