Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recording his first album as a bandleader, the acclaimed drummer assembled a stellar ensemble featuring Keith Jarrett and Charlie Haden. Stepping away from strict timekeeping, the deeply atmospheric, free-flowing improvisations perfectly set the template for his extensive, boundary-pushing career with ECM Records.
