Album Notes & Community Reviews
The veteran songwriter enlisted ambient pioneer Brian Eno to co-produce the record, heavily layering his introspective acoustic compositions with complex electronic 'sonic landscapes'. The lyrics frequently address the anxieties of post-9/11 America and the realities of aging. It was praised as a remarkably forward-thinking and texturally rich late-career highlight.
