Die Berge

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On 'Die Berge', Paysage d'Hiver channels a hostile alpine environment through epic-length atmospheric black metal tracks defined by raw, lo-fi production and hypnotic, churning tremolo riffs. The album continues the narrative of the 'Wanderer' protagonist, using a blend of keyboard soundscapes, harsh shrieking vocals, and relentless drumming to create an immersive sonic blizzard themed around a final, death-contemplating mountain ascent. This work refines the project's signature balance of ambient textures and grim black metal, resulting in a sound that is both majestically vast and intensely menacing.
