Album Notes & Community Reviews
David Bazan constructed this crushing, incredibly cynical concept album around themes of corporate greed, marital infidelity, and profound spiritual hypocrisy. The traditionally sparse acoustic instrumentation of his early work is largely replaced by dense, aggressively distorted guitar rock.
