Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originally issued as a 10-inch LP and later expanded, this impeccably polished collection showcases the profoundly sophisticated, remarkably understated vocal styling of the former big band star. Supported by highly swinging, brass-inflected arrangements by Pete Rugolo, her famously cool, intensely rhythmic phrasing flawlessly bridges the gap between commercial mainstream pop and authentic jazz execution. The incredibly suave, dynamically controlled record permanently elevated her status as a premier solo entertainer.
