Album Notes & Community Reviews

Named after the band's hometown, this debut album presents a highly distinctive, classically-oriented approach to the Krautrock sound. Dominated by Thomas Schmitt's virtuosic, aggressively bowed violin and prominent Hammond organ work, the complex instrumental suites owe as much to classical chamber music as they do to heavy rock. It stands as an intense and remarkably sophisticated entry in early German progressive rock.
