Album Notes & Community Reviews

On their fifth studio LP, the pioneering British folk-jazz quintet subtly modernized their intricate sound, incorporating electric guitar, banjo, and electric bass into their typically acoustic arrangements. The complex fingerpicking interplay between John Renbourn and Bert Jansch remains phenomenal, perfectly supporting Jacqui McShee's interpretations of traditional ballads and American blues. Despite internal tensions, the album stands as a wonderfully cohesive, sophisticated late-career highlight.
