Album Notes & Community Reviews

Taking an astonishing pivot toward bright, accessible pop structures, the notoriously avant-garde Cleveland group completely subverted expectations with 'Cloudland'. David Thomas's warbling vocals are paired with polished, major-key melodies and infectious rhythms, creating a strangely brilliant collision of mainstream ambition and eccentric artistry. The record remains a fascinating, deeply misunderstood pop anomaly in their discography.
