Album Notes & Community Reviews

Concluding the initial phase of Pere Ubu's existence before a temporary disbandment, 'Song of the Bailing Man' trades the dense industrial despair of their early work for jagged, syncopated art-pop structures. The prominent incorporation of marimba and abstract, improvisational frameworks highlight David Thomas's increasingly eccentric and idiosyncratic vocal approach.
