Embracing the departure of founding guitarist Tom Herman, Pere Ubu pushed their sound into increasingly abstract, deeply surreal, and highly challenging territory. 'The Art of Walking' relies heavily on Allen Ravenstine's bizarre EML synthesizer noises and David Thomas's warbling vocals to create a remarkably quirky, playfully chaotic, and deeply atmospheric art-punk enigma.
