Bilingual
by Pet Shop Boys
Pet Shop Boys' sixth album, 'Bilingual', merges their signature synth-pop and house foundations with a pronounced Latin American influence, a direct result of their 1994 tour of the continent. The album's international scope is reflected in its multilingual lyrics and a diverse sonic palette incorporating Brazilian percussion, Spanish samples, and a Russian choir. Continuing the instrumentally dense style of its predecessor 'Very', 'Bilingual' was a commercial success that yielded three UK top-ten singles and also featured a distinct suite of New York-influenced dance tracks.
