Album Notes & Community Reviews

Armed solely with his five-string banjo, the influential folksinger delivers a vital collection of unvarnished traditional mountain ballads. The sparse, intimate recording style prioritized educational preservation over commercial polish, establishing a template for the urban folk revival that would explode a decade later.
