Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded entirely on a purpose-built oscillator in 1974 but officially released in 1980 on his own Groovy Records imprint, 'Sky Yen' is a radically early excursion into electronic drone by Buzzcocks frontman Pete Shelley. Consisting of a single, continuous oscillating pitch manipulated over two sides of vinyl, it is a fascinating, uncompromising piece of British avant-garde minimalism.
