Album Notes & Community Reviews
Subtitled 'A Novel', this ambitious solo concept album accompanied a short film addressing racial tension, poverty, and urban decay in a West London housing estate. 'White City' merges highly polished 1980s pop-rock production with Townshend's signature furious acoustic strumming and introspective songwriting. Featuring contributions from David Gilmour, the project successfully revived his solo career following the official disbandment of The Who.
