Album Notes & Community Reviews

Operating as a deeply ambitious covers project, 'Scratch My Back' finds Peter Gabriel completely eschewing guitars and drum kits in favor of lush orchestral arrangements. He reinterprets tracks from an eclectic roster of artists, ranging from David Bowie to Radiohead, utilizing sweeping strings and his weathered, emotive baritone. The project was intended as the first half of a conceptual exchange where the covered artists would eventually reciprocate.
