Album Notes & Community Reviews

The debut solo album from the Van der Graaf Generator frontman serves as an unexpectedly breezy, relatively accessible departure from his band's typically bleak, sprawling epics. Comprised largely of concise, early compositions deemed unsuitable for the group, the record features contributions from Robert Fripp and his VdGG bandmates, leaning into upbeat, slightly psychedelic art-pop and folk. It highlights a rarely seen, whimsically melodic side of his intensely dramatic songwriting.
