Capitalizing on the global success of the Neue Deutsche Welle, the English-language version of Schilling's debut brought his sci-fi-themed synth-pop to an international audience. Propelled by the massive international hit 'Major Tom (Coming Home)', 'Error in the System' features incredibly sleek, atmospheric synthesizer arrangements and futuristic lyrical themes. It remains an iconic, defining release of the 1980s synth-pop explosion.
