Departing from his stark acoustic protest roots, Phil Ochs enlists producer Larry Marks to drape his compositions in sweeping cinematic orchestrations. The incorporation of ragtime piano, brass, and classical strings casts his political observations in a theatrical, vaudeville-inspired light.
