Album Notes & Community Reviews
For the follow-up, Thornton and Ramzy spent a week in Cairo in August 1997 recording overdubs with traditional and modern Egyptian instruments, from kawala flute and mizmar to quarter-tone accordion. Eight tracks, including 'At the Gates of the Citadel' and 'Cairo Blues', deepen the dance-rhythm framework of their first collaboration.
