Album Notes & Community Reviews

Stepping out from his legendary tenure with the Miles Davis Quintet, the relentlessly swinging drummer commands a robust septet. The complex, brass-heavy arrangements by Jimmy Heath provide an ideal framework for the leader's highly interactive, explosive cross-rhythms and unmistakable rim-shot accents.
