Named after the Birmingham, Alabama neighborhood where he grew up, the highly prolific underground artist released a deeply spiritual, incredibly hazy hip-hop masterwork. The sprawling 27-track album is heavily driven by crackling, completely drumless soul samples and gorgeous neo-soul vocal features, providing a hazy backdrop for his incredibly poetic, spoken-word-adjacent rapping. It was widely championed as a profoundly beautiful, defining record of the lo-fi rap renaissance.
