Album Notes & Community Reviews

Born from the collaborative experiments between vocalist Channy Leaneagh and producer Ryan Olson, the Minneapolis group's debut pairs heavily autotuned R&B vocal melodies with two live, syncopated drum kits. The album was largely inspired by Leaneagh's recent divorce, resulting in an incredibly cold, emotionally devastated lyrical perspective. Earning immediate praise from figures like Justin Vernon, the project was instrumental in popularizing moody, R&B-inflected electronic pop.
