Album Notes & Community Reviews
Operating at the extreme intersection of free improvisation and contemporary chamber music, the Viennese quartet Polwechsel delivers a remarkably challenging, highly disciplined acoustic recording[cite: 1]. The entirely unscripted avant-garde performances emphasize incredible sonic restraint, utilizing silence and extended instrumental techniques to construct deeply complex, minimalist textures[cite: 1].
