Album Notes & Community Reviews

Steeped in the teachings of the Five-Percent Nation, the New Jersey trio's sophomore effort delivers incredibly dense, spiritually focused lyricism. 'Pure Poverty' pairs Wise Intelligent's rapid, dancehall-inflected vocal delivery with funky, sample-heavy boom bap production, serving as a landmark of socially conscious early 90s hip-hop.
