Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Lebanese-Swiss avant-garde duo delivers an exhaustingly kinetic, deeply hypnotic fusion of traditional Middle Eastern wedding music and free jazz improvisation. 'Kaf Afrit' collides the frenetic electronic rhythms of Mahraganat and Shaabi with chaotic saxophone freakouts and dense synthesizer loops. The purely instrumental record is an intensely playful, complex, and manic exercise in cross-cultural dissonance.
