Album Notes & Community Reviews

Guillermo Scott Herren's groundbreaking debut radically transformed the landscape of underground hip-hop production by applying the surgical precision of IDM to classic boom-bap aesthetics. 'Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives' heavily chops and stutters rap acapellas, turning the human voice into a rapid-fire percussive instrument. The glitchy, intricate beat programming provided a crucial bridge between electronic music nerds and underground rap traditionalists.
