Something Magic
by Procol Harum
Arriving shortly before the veteran symphonic rock group disbanded for over a decade, this release attempts to balance shorter commercial songs with sprawling progressive ambition. The entirety of the second side is dedicated to 'The Worm & The Tree', an extended, polarizing fable featuring spoken-word narration over complex orchestral arrangements. The album struggled to find an audience amidst the rapidly changing musical climate of the late 1970s.
