Album Notes & Community Reviews

Fletcher Shears momentarily steps away from the frenetic punk-inflected sound of The Garden to explore bizarre, nocturnal pop soundscapes under his solo moniker. Utilizing woozy, lo-fi synthesizer textures and abstract hip-hop beat patterns, 'The Rotten Opera' functions as a surreal and deeply cryptic experimental pop record. The album constructs a cold, deeply mysterious atmosphere heavily influenced by internet-era plunderphonics.
