Helmed by Fletcher Shears (also known for his work in the band The Garden), 'X Hail' presents a quirky fusion of hypnagogic pop and experimental hip-hop under the Puzzle moniker. The album employs deadpan vocal delivery and surreal, synth-driven beats heavily influenced by tracker music software. It gained a cult following for its unconventional and deeply internet-influenced aesthetic.
