Album Notes & Community Reviews
This ambitious concept album by the veteran progressive metal quintet is built entirely around the firsthand accounts of United States military veterans. Frontman Geoff Tate conducted extensive interviews with soldiers from various conflicts, incorporating their spoken words directly into the dense, dramatic musical arrangements. The deeply serious lyrical focus is matched by the band's signature blend of complex musicianship and theatrical heavy metal.
