Album Notes & Community Reviews

Reacting to the rapidly shifting landscape of 1990s rock, the progressive metal titans stripped back their expansive, operatic orchestrations for a grungier, alternative metal approach. The polarizing stylistic shift yielded a more straightforward, melancholic album that severely alienated fans of their classic symphonic conceptualism.
