Self

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Operating at the nexus of the British counterculture and Eastern spirituality, 'Self' expands on the band's signature raga rock sound with extensive, mantra-like jamming. The musicians integrate traditional Indian instrumentation, specifically the flute and tabla, into sprawling electric psychedelic frameworks. It stands as a vital document of the era's deep fascination with transcendental meditation and improvisational rock.
