Album Notes & Community Reviews

Pivoting towards deeply groovy, rhythm-and-blues-oriented interpretations, the legendary blind multi-instrumentalist delivered a joyous, highly accessible masterwork. The arrangements brilliantly adapt contemporary soul and pop hits鈥攊ncluding tracks by Bill Withers and Marvin Gaye鈥攊nto fiery, deeply swinging jazz structures. It stands as a profound celebration of Black American musical heritage and an unapologetic embrace of popular song forms.
