Album Notes & Community Reviews

One of Rahsaan Roland Kirk's most experimental and deeply personal albums. 'Prepare Thyself' is a key example of his 'black classical music,' blending large ensemble orchestration with sound collages, nature recordings, and Kirk's own transcendent multi-instrumental abilities. The music is a sprawling, spiritual journey that defies easy categorization, showcasing a unique artist at his most visionary and uncompromising. It's a deep dive into the mind of a true original.
