Album Notes & Community Reviews

Returning to a purely solitary setting, the virtuosic acoustic guitarist and Oregon co-founder delivered a masterclass in subtle, evocative instrumental improvisation. 'Open Letter' is a pristine solo showcase featuring both classical and 12-string guitars, occasionally overdubbed with Prophet-10 synthesizer to create vast, cinematic soundscapes. The highly contemplative recording beautifully exemplifies the signature, spacious aesthetic of the ECM label.
