The Night Green Side of It

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On their third full-length collaboration, R.A.P. Ferreira and Kenny Segal delve deeper into a sound blending abstract hip-hop with the improvisational sensibilities of free jazz. Segal constructs atmospheric, often minimalist beats with cryptic piano loops, dynamic violins, and textural drum patterns that create a distinct sense of space. Ferreira complements this sonic backdrop with his signature stream-of-consciousness, poetic lyricism, exploring themes of legacy, compassion, and artistic purpose with a delivery that shifts between swagger and earnest reflection.
