Album Notes & Community Reviews

Rebounding from a tumultuous period of legal issues and addiction recovery, 'Crying Time' finds Ray Charles returning to top form. The title track, a soulful reimagining of a Buck Owens country song, underscores his genius for dissolving the boundaries between country, rhythm and blues, and pop. The album features crisp, lush orchestrations that beautifully frame his weathered, intensely expressive vocal delivery.
