Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Red Hot Chili Peppers' seventh studio album and their reunion with guitarist John Frusciante, whose melodic playing reshaped the band's funk-rock attack into a leaner, harmony-led alternative rock. Produced by Rick Rubin, 'Californication' balances balladry such as 'Scar Tissue' and 'Otherside' with the title track's portrait of Californian artifice.
